CAR BURGLARS HAVE THEIR WAY, RASH OF GYM LOCKER ROBBERIES, & MORE LAST WEEK IN WEHO

The Sheriff Station released their crime blotter for last week, and lets just say the car burglars are having a smashing success in Weho.

In at least nine reported incidents last week alone, thieves removed items from cars parked on streets and in garages. In most of the reported cases, a car window was smashed to allow the thief access to the valuables which were visible inside the car.

SO IMPORTANT:  Remove all valuables from your car when parking on our streets, and it’s best to remove EVERYTHING from view- lock your stuff in the trunk or glovebox. These thieves are bold and they will break your window even for fifty cents or a tube of makeup!

Also- WE NEED THE SHERIFF TO IMPLEMENT BEAT PATROLS so that we have a more frequent and visible law enforcement presence on our neighborhood streets. It is unacceptable that these criminals seemingly think they can cruise our neighborhoods without fear of being seen.

Maybe it’s time for the residents to start forming neighborhood patrols and walking our streets in teams at night. These burglaries/robberies/vandalism issues are getting ridiculous.

Also of note in the crime blotter: Someone cut the locks off of gym lockers in three separate incidents on three different days last week (allegedly) at the 24 Hour Fitness and stole credit cards, wallets and a wedding ring from inside the lockers. Inside job? We hope not.
